Gentlemen: Welcome back for the 2010 High School Football Season!
As we begin to prepare for the upcoming season, remember that there will not be new rule books.
The NCAA decided last year that the books would now be good for two years, so get them out and start reviewing! The rule changes for this year are minimal, and for that reason, we have also moved Rule 10 to the first meeting. The meetings will again be held at Forest Grove Junior High on Wednesday evenings. The dates will be as follows, with tentative discussion points: - Sept 1 – Mandatory meeting, ethics, Rule 10
- Sept 8 – Rules 9, 2 and Pre-Game
- Sept 22 – Rule 3, 6 – Periods & Timing, Kicks (Changed from Sept 15 - NO MEEETING ON SEPT 15)
- Sept 29 – Rule 5 – Series & Line to Gain, Mechanics
- Oct 13 – Rule 4
- Oct 20 – Rule 7
- Oct 27 – Rule 8, Unusual Plays, By-Law change proposals
- Nov 3 – Elections, By-laws
- Nov 19 - Banquet
No decision has been made regarding the social. Additionally, as discussed at the last meeting of the 2009 season, the Executive Board has discussed bringing forth a proposal to allow the black NFL pants for the last few weeks of the year, so if interested you may want to order them.
Also, as Commissioners call for scrimmages, please make yourself available for one or two, so you are ready to go on that first weekend. Enjoy the rest of the summer with your family and friends and we will see you on September 1st –
